Private Security Agencies (PSA) are corporations that provide security services to businesses, banks, ATMs, and hospitals, among others. For its operations, a PSA must obtain a PSARA license. The PSARA or Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act of 2005 governs and administers all regulations pertaining to the operations of private security agencies. PSARA is a mandatory license that all PSAs must obtain before commencing their business. No PSA can provide its guards to any entity or corporate office without a PSARA license.
Security services can be provided by private security firms to private and public companies, restaurants, guesthouses and hotels, housing societies, and residential bungalows, among others. Security guards, both armed and unarmed, are provided by private security agency services. PSA assists with security by offering services such as patrol, bodyguard, guard dog, and parking security, among others. PSAs not only provide security services but also give security guard training to those appointed under them. For conducting the business of providing security guards to entities, the PSAs must obtain a PSARA license. Without this license, no PSAs can commence or conduct their business. The PSARA regulates the way private security services can be rendered.
